Minimize Stand-Down Time and Get Your Crews Back to Work

Governments understand that on occasion, the unexpected discovery of previously unknown Historical Resources happens during project construction.

All provinces and territories have Chance Find protocols that guide the approval process in such situations (in Alberta the protocol is found in Section 31 of the Historical Resources Act, for example).

Our team is just a phone call away when a Chance Find occurs on one of your projects. Our primary goal will always be to minimize down time and get your crews back to work.

Chance Find Site Visits and Reporting

Once notified of your Chance Find, we will immediately:

  • Get all the details from you about the find location, type of find, type of development, impact to the development activities, and so on;
  • Rapidly mobilize a specialist to your site to examine the find and its location;
  • Collect the find and make all arrangements for its proper delivery to the correct government agency;
  • Record all relevant data about the find location and the circumstances of the discovery;
  • Make an immediate report to the proper government regulators and solicit their feedback as to the most streamlined course of action;
  • Complete any follow-up actions as required by the government, and work closely with them to make sure that the final regulatory sign-off is issued as soon as possible.

Minimize Stand-Down Delays

Our team of specialists are keenly aware that stand-down delays can run up heavy costs to a project. We will put your Chance Find site visit at the top of our priority list, and whenever possible we will complete all government notifications on the same day we receive the notification from you.
